PC4HS provides PCB guidance

PR-PC4HS

SPARKS, NV — Process Cleaning for Healthy Schools® (PC4HS), a national non-profit organization of facility professionals aimed at creating healthy schools while protecting jobs, has released guidance on handling potential PCB-containing dust, according to a press release.

PC4HS recommends first that schools have a suspected area tested for PCB levels and then proceed with EPA guidance.

Dust, the PC4HS says, should always be considered hazardous, and it recommends high-efficiency containment removal methods, such as using well-filtered vacuums certified for IAQ by the CRI, among other methods.

PCBs, used for decades in schools and other buildings can endocrine disruption in humans, as well as other health problems.

The EPA is available to assist with removal of this substance; for more information click here or here.

PC4HS is a 501c3 organization of facility professionals dedicated to helping produce healthy, high-performance schools while protecting jobs in budget constrained environments.
