City moves to green cleaning
Thursday, September 21, 2006
MINNEAPOLIS — The Minneapolis Convention Center is cleaning with 90 percent Green Seal-certified chemicals now and hopes to make that 100 percent by early next year, according to WCCO-TV.

Center custodians also use a precise measuring/dispensing system for the chemicals, the story stated.

One custodian told the station: "It makes it easier. You don't get a headache or anything from the strong odor that most of the other chemicals have."

The city is looking to adopt green cleaning chemicals and practices at other municipal buildings, and the City Council will consider a resolution on green cleaning in October, the story noted.
