Preparing for Disaster: Creating a Business Continuity Plan
April 27 @ April 27 - April 27Free
It does not always take a major catastrophe like a flood, tornado, or hurricane to shut down a facility or a business. Incidents involving power failures, broken water pipes, or data breaches can often be the cause of significant organizational disruptions.
Too often the concept of business continuity planning is not a priority for organizations; however, organizations that proactively consider how to respond to disaster events are often the first to recover and reopen.
A business continuity plan can provide a competitive advantage by identifying risk and vulnerabilities in addition to the personnel, data, equipment, logistics, and procedures that are essential for operations.
This webinar presented by the University of Chicago will discuss the reasons, benefits and processes for developing a business continuity plan and program. A discussion of risks, threats, vulnerabilities, and potential consequences facing businesses as well as a discussion of current disaster trends will also be addressed.
