BURLINGTON, WA — Restoration professionals can now get convenient training in how to avoid these legal problems through the new web-based "Legal Issues" training courses from their offices or homes 24/7, according to a press release.

"Restoration Lawyer" Ed Cross, Esq., principal attorney for Cross & Associates, partnered with Restoration Sciences Academy (RSA) to present the courses, which cover contracts, collections and risk management, the release stated.

"We focus on the basic questions every restoration contractor should be asking. Are you getting paid without a hassle? Is your business at risk? And most importantly, are you legally vulnerable," said Cross.

According to the release, The Legal Issues series includes a free 30-minute introductory course, followed by two 60-minute Contracts and Documents modules and two 60-minute Collections modules.

The modules cover what written contracts and proper documents should always including how to "hope for the best and prepare for the worst" with proper pre-litigation planning, recovering compensation for breach of contract, and special issues such as mold remediation, insurance disputes and mechanics liens, the release noted.
