NC Zerorez promotes literacy

RALEIGH, NC — Zeorez North Carolina, which services the Raleigh and Charlotte areas, recently teamed up with the Wake County literacy organization, WAKE Up and Read, according to a press release.

The goal of the volunteer collaboration is to educate the area on the importance of childhood literacy and increase access to literacy resources and opportunities for children.

WAKE Up and Read plans to collect 100,000 in February, and Zeroez technicians will collect at least 1,000 books to aid the organization reach its goal.

“Childhood literacy is critical to a community’s growth and economic development on a granular level,” Richard Averitte, marketing director for Zerorez North Carolina, said in the release. “We at Zerorez are proud to partner with WAKE Up, and we share their vision of every child in Wake County inspired, equipped and empowered to read.”

WAKE Up and Read aims to have all students readying on grade level by third grade. Books for this drive will fill nine schools in the area in addition to community centers and child care facilities.
