MIAMI — In addition to the partially closed David W. Dyer federal courthouse, the 15-year-old James Lawrence King federal courthouse is also infested with mold, according to Law.com.
An air quality study commissioned by the U.S. Attorney''s office recommends renovating and cleaning the King courthouse''s air conditioning system and ductwork, the story stated.
Several people working in the King courthouse have complained of respiratory problems, the story added.
Mold in the 75-year-old Dyer courthouse has been linked to the unusual death in 2006 of late U.S. Magistrate Theodore Klein, whose family believes that his death from a respiratory illness is related to mold exposure in the courthouse, the story noted.
