PETERBOROUGH , ONTARIO, Canada — Green chemical manufacturer Enviro-Solutions Vice President and General Manager, Mike Sawchuk urges New York Governor George Pataki to impose Green Seal or Canada''s Environmental Choice Program standards as guidelines for the use of green products in the state''s buildings and schools, according to a letter to the editor received by CM e-News Daily today.
According to reports, Sawchuck said, Pataki''s legislature calls for cleaning products to conform to guidelines established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA); for the professional cleaning industry, the EPA guidelines have little relevance today.
Sawchuck claimed that not only does certification help purchasers, it sets parameters for chemical manufacturers as well, helping them meet the accepted green standards of the industry.
"I wholeheartedly applaud the New York Governor''s actions," Sawchuck said. "I just encourage him to make the more advanced guidelines developed by Green Seal and Environmental Choice a part of the legislation."
