VMA announces Dina Dwyer-Owens as keynote speaker

CANTON, OH — Dina Dwyer-Owens, chief executive officer (CEO) and chairwoman of the Dwyer Group, which offers seven franchise service brands including Rainbow International, is this year’s keynote speaker at The Violand Executive Summit.

This year’s Summit, which offers 10 unique and interactive courses on individual aspects of management and leadership in small businesses, is slated for June 19-20 in Canton, OH.

Dwyer-Owens will discuss how to “Live R.I.C.H.” by embracing the themes of Respect, Integrity, Customer focus and Having fun in the process. Topics include Lean/Six Sigma implementation, best practices in hiring, negotiating effectively, managing for performance, understanding your financials and more.

Graduates of the full program receive a diploma in small business management from Kent State University, as well as earn CECs from the IICRC and contact hours from the RIA.

ServiceMaster files for IPO

MEMPHIS, TN — ServiceMaster Global Holdings Inc. has filed with U.S. regulators to raise about $100 million in an initial public offering of common stock.

ServiceMaster officials informed the U.S Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in a preliminary prospectus that JPMorgan, Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley were underwriting the IPO.

The company intends to list its common stock under the symbol "SERV" but did not specify the exchange.

IAQA elects officers and directors

ROCKVILLE, MD — The Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA) board of directors held the annual election of officers for the 2014-2015 term at the IAQA 17th Annual Meeting in Nashville on March 16.

Kent Rawhouser, WLS, CMRS, of A&J Specialty Services Inc., DeForest, WI, was elected IAQA president. 

Eva M. King, MSc, PhD, of INDOOR Biotechnologies Inc., Charlottesville, VA, was elected IAQA first vice president. 

Elected to the two IAQA vice president offices were Derrick Denis, CIEC, CIAQP, of Clark Seif Clark Inc., Tempe, AZ, and Wei Tang, PhD, of QLab in Cherry Hill, NJ.

Daniel Greenblatt, ASCS, CMR, CMH, of Envirotech Clean Air Inc., Stoneham, MA, was elected IAQA Treasurer.

John Lapotaire, CIEC, of Indoor Air Quality Solutions & Microshield Environmental Services LLC, Orlando, FL, was elected to a three-year term as a new IAQA director. Two members were re-elected as directors for three year terms: Kent Rawhouser and Derrick Denis.
