LEXINGTON, KY — Rainbow International of Lexington crew chief Chris “Big Hog” Cossette thwarted a burglar’s effort to get away after he eluded police by running from the scene of an attempted burglary on December 3, according to a press release.

The suspected burglar ran from a residence on Simba Way to a nearby physical therapy office, located in the Richmond Woods Centre, where Cossette was removing water from the business because of a malfunctioning sump-pump, the release stated.

According to the release, the suspect ran into the office claiming that someone was trying to, “kill him,” and was instructed by Cossette to hide in the women’s restroom.

“Once we realized that the man hiding in the restroom wasn’t in any kind of danger and was, in fact, a suspect to a crime Mike went and flagged down some officers. I stayed in the building until police arrived,” said Chris Cossette.

After Mike flagged down officers, Chris left the building as approximately 15 police officers rushed in to apprehend the suspect who, according to police, was possibly armed, the release noted.
