DENVER — Colorado businesses have stepped up in big ways and small to assist the communities across Colorado impacted by the recent historic flooding, according to a press release.
Now, as communities look toward recovery and rebuilding, German-based Kärcher, a global leader in cleaning technology with U.S headquarters in Denver, has donated 250 pressure washers to the cleanup effort, the release stated.
"There are four critical areas in the flood recovery process: Housing, transportation and cleanup. This gift greatly impacts the fourth area — and often times the most time consuming piece — the clean up," said Erin Mounsey, executive director of the Northern Colorado Chapter of the Red Cross.
"We knew once those pressure washers hit the ground what a unique asset we had and what a tremendous difference it would make. Kärcher also generously donated $10,000 in cash to the effort. We are so grateful to all of the companies who have supported us," Mounsey added.
According to the release, Kärcher joined forces with several volunteer organizations that helped to clean up hundreds of properties.
Teams of four were trained how to use the pressure washers and then they were sent to homes that were in most need of flood clean up, the release noted.
