NEW YORK — After the Regal Princess arrived in New York Harbor Tuesday from Copenhagen, Denmark with about 300 of the 1,538 passengers and 44 of 639 crew members ill with Norwalk virus symptoms, crews from Coverall Cleaning Concepts responded.
Franchise owner Virgilio Delacruz and his Coverall personnel cleaned, disinfected and sanitized passenger buses and berth area where passengers are held prior to boarding, ramps, elevators and surrounding areas of the ship, a Coverall spokesperson told CM e-News Daily/CMM Online.
Reuters News Service had reported that the cruise ship docked one day ahead of schedule with only two passengers remaining ill with the gastrointestinal virus, according to a spokesperson from Carnival Cruise Lines, the ship's owner.
The ship made stops in Britain and Ireland before going on to Reykjavik, Iceland, skipping stops in Greenland and St. John's, Newfoundland, Reuters reported.
Coverall is based in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
